Coronavirus - Sanitisation Service

Below is an outline of some precautionary steps that you need to do to allow us to carry out the cleans safely.

  • Prior to us cleaning the site, all people must be removed from our designated working area. This is due to the fact that the chemical we use is very strong and we cannot risk anyone breathing in the product, nor coming into contact with it without appropriate PPE (personal protection equipment) whilst our team are cleaning. This is particularly important as we cleaned a couple of sites already where the client’s staff on site have asked us for masks, coveralls etc. so that they can work around us. As you can imagine we are all tight on resources, and we cannot afford to be handing out our PPE to people who are not our employees.
  • All people on site are not to enter the cleaned areas for a minimum of 2 hours after we have finished cleaning. This is to allow for any mist particles of the product to settle, and for no one to be at risk of breathing the product in.
  • Customers are to be informed that if there is a suspected person on site, cleaning just their room is not sufficient, the client must consider whether any other premises should also be cleaned such as corridors, bathrooms, living room areas etc. anywhere where the suspected person could have entered.
  • VERY IMPORTANT: Customers should ensure that when they isolate people to different areas of the building during our cleans, they are to consider for these people to have access to a bathroom/WC.
  • Customers can only book in our services to clean an area after the premises has been kept closed and secure for 72 hours after the suspected person has left. As per advice on gov.uk, after 72 hours the amount of the virus living on the surface will have significantly reduced, and we need to take all the precautionary measures to protect ourselves.
  • All of the suspected person’s items must be removed from the room/premises prior to our clean such as bed linen and any other personal possessions. All items need to be disposed of in a double lined tightly tied bag. If possible, it is recommended to isolate the bag with the items for 72 hours before disposing it in the bin. If storage for at least 72 hours is not feasible for the client, the client is to arrange for collection of the waste as a Category B infectious waste with their local waste collection authority.
  • For added protection we need to dispose all PPE used after each clean, as recommended on gov.uk.
